A local angler brought glory to the country when he won the 13th Miri, Sarawak International Deep Sea Fishing Championship.

Awang Mohammad Taib bin Alikhan won the individual and team categories after obtaining a catch weighing 40 point 0-8 kilogrammes of Bigeye Trevally or Cupak.
